Speaker Leads Are Typically Made Using Silver-Plated Copper Wire
Speaker wires are commonly crafted from silver-plated copper wire, a material known for its significant role in electrical current transmission, providing substantial convenience in daily life. In certain situations, silver-plated flat copper wire is referred to as silver-plated copper wire or simply silver-plated wire. This type of wire is created by drawing fine strands through wire machines, typically following the deoxidized or oxygen-free copper wire.
Silver-plated copper wire comes in two variants: silver-plated soft round copper wire and silver-plated hard round copper wire. Concerning the durability of speaker wires, although the portion dedicated to speaker leads is small, its role is crucial. Therefore, it is essential to choose corrosion-resistant, long-lasting speaker leads. These leads exhibit stable resistance, strong conductivity, and excellent sound transmission properties.
Adding an appropriate thickness to the silver layer and increasing the coating density can effectively slow down the silver's discoloration over time. While this might incur additional costs, the reduction in defective products contributes to lowering overall production costs. Utilizing dual-metal wires for the copper layer, given their small proportion, enhances transmission performance, making them particularly suitable for internal conductors in RF coaxial cables. Compared to pure copper wires, these wires have a density of approximately 40%, offering superior transmission characteristics and making them the ideal choice for internal conductors in RF coaxial cable branches.
